Explore Prague through a few connected walks, with space for courtyards, coffee and the river. At Christmas, plan around the market you actually want to visit.
A three-day route
Begin in the Old Town and leave time for lanes away from the busiest squares. On day two, cross towards Malá Strana and plan your castle-area visit separately. Keep day three for another neighbourhood or a museum when the weather turns.
Spend on the right things
Check the full room price and tram connections beyond the most photographed streets. Walking between nearby sights can keep transport spending down. Compare an attraction pass with the individual admissions you will actually use, rather than its longest inclusion list.
Christmas planning
Prague City Tourism lists the Old Town Square market for 28 November 2026 to 6 January 2027. Other squares have different dates. Choose your market first, then compare travel dates and nearby accommodation; peak weekends may cost more.
Before you go
Check official opening times and accessibility. Cobbled routes and steep approaches can change how much you fit into a day. In winter, include a warm indoor stop between long walks.
