Plan Marrakech with space between its medina, gardens and courtyards. A calm base and a clear arrival plan can matter as much as the number of sights on your list.
Four days with a calm centre
Use the first day to settle in and learn the route around your accommodation. Explore the medina with a considered route on day two. Give a chosen garden or museum its own morning, and keep the final day flexible rather than adding a long excursion by default.
Choose your base and arrival
A riad in the medina and a hotel elsewhere offer different access and evening experiences. Ask where a vehicle can drop you off, how luggage reaches the entrance and whether reception can provide arrival directions. Confirm room access, stairs and any transfer arrangements.
Spend with clear expectations
Agree the price and inclusions of a service before it begins. For a guided visit, compare the itinerary, group size and any shopping stops. Price long excursions separately, including road time, meals and the return to your accommodation.
Prepare for the actual trip
Check official entry requirements and current travel advice for every traveller’s nationality. Respect local dress and photography expectations, and verify seasonal opening hours directly. Warm weather is not guaranteed; keep a flexible outdoor plan.
